“If a tree falls in the forest and there’s no-one to hear it, does it make a sound?
Ask Konrad, he probably recorded it.” – Karel Miles

“Things are not what they seem, nor are they otherwise.” – The Diamond Sutra

“Nothing is more abstract than Reality.” – Giorgio Morandi

After a twenty-year hiatus, I am slowly resurrecting my website.
A lot of my art and documentation falls in the analog domain, so it requires substantial time and effort to digitise and remaster for modern digital platforms.
For starters I have prepared more than forty of my videos that can be viewed on my video page. In time the other categories will also be populated and added to.
Thanks, Konrad

About the LSD of VHS

Even though I have always been straightedge about hallucinogens1, I relish exploring the seemingly endless ways reality can be experienced and represented through art, language, philosophy, religion or cognitive science.
Over the years, some viewers of my videos have commented on them in the context of hallucinogenic or psychotropic experiences.
For this reason, I’ve always enjoyed Lauren Shantall’s witty title of an article she wrote about me in 1999. It was therefor a no-brainer for me to use it as the name of my website.

1: This is not due to any moral reservations. I am keenly aware of, and interested in, the use of psychotropic and hallucinogenic substances in many cultures. On this subject, the writings of Terence McKenna and David Lewis-Williams have inspired me for decades.
